Exercising

Drew is taking gymnastics. He calls it "doing my exercising". Oh what fun he is having!

Pumpkin Patch

We made our annual trek to visit a pumpkin patch. I am usually the one responsible for choosing the kids clothes and I was planning on the kids wearing orange colored shirts (which is difficult for us because we aren't UT fans...not that there's anything wrong with that) and jeans. But someone else had other ideas. Brett wanted them in the overalls! :) I found Drew's and they fit. Didn't think I had any for Rebecca. But Brett reminded me about some that Drew had. Dug through a few boxes, found them, wasn't very optimistic that they would fit her, but they worked! So sweet that Brett wanted them "matching".

I was hoping it would go better than last year. Rebecca was little and didn't smile for any pictures and wouldn't sit still. It turned out last year was great in comparison to yesterday. Rebecca was fascinated with all the pumpkins and wouldn't sit still, let alone look at the camera and smile. Usually when she sees the camera she starts to grin, but there was just too much to look at to smile for mommy. Then the battery in the camera went dead. Brett brought more batteries. He had taken them from the pack, but they didn't work either. Oh well. There's always next year.
Here's a good one of our little ham
This is the closest pic of them together
Yeah, mommy felt like this too!
Now this is my girl looking at the camera
She loves to sit in the basket to read! (note her crossed feet!)

First Football Game

Drew went to his first football game today. No, it wasn't Baylor. No, it wasn't A&M. It was Rice. Poor child, we will have him so confused as to who to cheer for. Of course dad/Bob doesn't think so. Drew was proud to show Grandpa that he wore his Rice shirt today.

I took him to the pregame fun which consisted of Moonwalks and Bouncey-things. The weather was so perfect. Drew jumped and jumped and jumped. Then we went to the game. Drew's first question to me after we sat down was, "Where is the candy?" When dad took him to a Rice baseball game, he brought along some M&Ms to entertain Drew. I guess Drew was waiting for Bob to bring out the M&Ms at this sporting event too. But I discovered the way to get Drew to sit for at least 1 quarter of a game (that is how long we stayed)... popcorn. He sat with this huge tub of popcorn and had a great time staring at the little girls behind him, asking what the man in front of us was doing (eating peanuts, Drew had never seen them in the shells and didn't know why the man kept throwing the shells on the ground), and clapping when everyone else did. I don't think that he looked at the field after he saw the Rice players run out. He had a great time and hopefully should sleep well tonight.

I forgot my camera, so I had him pose for pictures when we got home.

Will and Luke's Birthday Party

Our friends' boys celebrated their birthday at a park. The theme was Mickey Mouse and Becky, their mom, made a precious cake for them. Drew wanted to catch a turtle in the pond. (Thank goodness he didn't.) And Rebecca just wanted to go in the pond.

Will is ready to blow out his candles.

Too bad Drew didn't like the cake much! :)
Rebecca had fun on the playground

Our Helper

These are chores that Rebecca loves to help out with:
1. Sweeping- She wants to "help" with the broom and her kind of "help" just seems to move my piles of trash around.
2. Folding clothes- She loves to grab something clean off the couch and drag it all over the house... I guess she is trying to help clean the floors!
3. Doing the Dishes- She likes to climb right in the dishwasher and pull out the silverware. She isn't too concerned if it is clean or not.
4. Vacuuming- she doesn't like the sound, so she encourages me not to vacuum much.

These are my good excuses for the way my house looks most days. I wonder what excuse I will use when she doesn't want to "help" anymore.

Caden's Birthday

On Sunday, it was our cousin, Caden's 7th birthday. He had a Star Wars theme party and since Drew has recently discovered Star Wars (much to his father's delight), Drew was very excited.
