Christmas Continued

We went over that afternoon to the Seviers' to continue our celebration.

At this time of year (and always), we are so thankful to celebrate the REAL meaning of Christmas. The birth of our Savior, Jesus. And thankful for a wonderful family to be with. Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve

We celebrated Christmas Eve going to church and then over to my parents to open the first round. Drew loves the church service because at the end he gets to hold up a candle. That boy loves a fire!

A Hunting We Will Go

Brett took Drew on his first trip hunting with Marcus, Rachel, and "our cousins" (as Amanda, Carson, and Caden are referred to around our house). Drew was so excited! It was my kind of hunting trip, they didn't shoot anything. Of course, they said they didn't see anything to shoot! Drew didn't really like the hunting part. I guess when you don't see any animals, it is more like the waiting part. Not liking hunting is ok by me. Drew's favorite part was riding on the four-wheelers and being with his favorite people. Glad everyone had a good time.

Becca is taking ballet this year and it is so cute. Parents are not in the room during the class, but we are able to watch through the windows so we often don't know what they are doing. They had a mini-recital so we could see their hard work. Precious!!!

Neighborhood Christmas Party

We went to our neighborhood party to meet Santa and let the kids make smores. It was a very windy night so we didn't stay very long.

Annual trip to Rice Village

We made our annual trip to Rice Village to help "kick off" the Christmas season. They played in the snow, sat in Santa sleigh, got a balloon animal, visited with Santa, rode the train, and visited the petting zoo. Pretty good for a couple of hours! Both were wiped out on the ride home!

He loves snow and keeps asking when are we going back to New Mexico to go skiing. Makes Brett a happy man!

Santa just asked him what he wanted for Christmas. The Sweet Boy answered, "I don't know. Whatever you want to bring me." Of course, now he has a list of things that are all out of mine (and Santa's) price range.

Becca said that she wanted a Barbie and Barbie clothes. Santa can swing that!

Thanksgiving

We were able to be thankful TWICE. Once at my parent's house and then we went to Marcus and Rachel's and were thankful again. Both meals were great, and Rachel (and Amanda) did a fabulous job with recipes from Paula Deen. If you have ever watched Paula Deen, you know that she uses lots of butter and sugar and all the other things that aren't the best for you, but sure do make a meal taste great!

Brett and I are so thankful to God for our families, home, friends, jobs, and especially our 2 precious blessings!

Thanksgiving at Drew's school

Alright folks, I am a little behind on my blogging. November and December are busy times. Here's what you've missed.

For Thanksgiving, Drew's school celebrates by having "The Mayflower set sail". They have "recreated" the Mayflower out of cardboard and 2nd graders tell about the voyage.

After the Mayflower set sail, all the classes celebrated with a feast.

Drew's Birthday

Drew wanted an all boy party for his 6th birthday. So we decided to have a camping party and invite a few friends from school and church. The boys shot bows and arrows, ate hot dogs, had a campfire and made smores, and had a bug hunt. Basically they were little boys and (I think) had a great time. Happy Birthday to my favorite boy!

Field Trip

Last week, Drew went on his first, school field trip to Dewberry Farm. We had never been before, but I heard it is a fun place. Drew rode on his first school bus. The farm was a neat place with lots of activities and the kids had a great time.

They had a room with over 500 carved pumpkins. Very impressive. They had carved pumpkins of Disney characters, Scooby Doo characters, animals, and even sports teams.
