Saying Goodbye to Summer

To finish off a fun summer, Dad and I took the kids to the Blue Bell factory. Interesting to see how much is made and all the different flavors.

Our friends, the Rodens, invited us to the lake for the day. Kids decided that it was too much trouble to go and put on their suits so why not just swim in your clothes. They thought that was such a neat idea.

Great summer 2013: Swim team, VBS at Tallowood and Second, Pine Cove Day Camp (for Drew), day trip to Splashway Water Park, trip to Colorado. Thankful for so many fun things for the kids to experience.

The Great Sand Dunes

On our way driving back home we stopped at the Great Sand Dunes. The kids had a blast climbing and sliding down the sand.

We were so fortunate to have such a wonderful family vacation. (Thanks again Williams Family)

River Rafting

Originally we thought that we would do a several hour raft tour. But the weather wasn't cooperating and we had to cancel the raft trip a couple of times. Thankful for God's ways. In the end we took a trip that was around 1 hour and that was plenty. The water that got in the raft was cold and made our feet cold!! Poor Brett had to even get in the cold water to get us unstuck from some rocks.

All smiles at the end

Hiking

There were some wonderful hikes in the area that were perfect for the kids (and out of shape mom).

Ooo Ooo went too!
Fun to climb up on the rocks

If brother does it, so must sister

He conquered the rock!

The kids loved it when we had to cross a little stream on logs.

More magnificent views.

Horseback Riding

We took the kids, big and little, to go horseback riding. The sight of my parents on horses was something to remember. Really fun time! Sore bottoms, but fun. And very thankful because right after we were finished with our ride it began to rain.
Anxious to meet the horses
Rebecca and Apache
Drew and Cinnamon
Jill and Taco
Sandra and well, we never caught the name of her horse
Bob and Charlie
Pretty views all around us
Brett with Chigger

Amazing scenery. Not many areas aren't breathtaking.
Brett, then Drew, Rebecca, 2 others in the group, and bringing up the rear, Mom

Poor Drew, no matter how hard he kicked his horse wasn't going to go any faster!
Rebecca's horse kept wanting to stop for snacks.
