After what felt like forever of looking, we found our newest family member. I was proud of myself for being able to go look at all these sweet dogs and not bringing home the first one I saw. I waited and have met a dog who loves me as much as my Belle did and maybe more.
The first few weeks were a challenge. He was practicing being an escape artist. We put him in a kennel and he got out. Brett tried to secure the kennel and he got out. He was so skinny he could slip through the bars on our gate. Ugh! He chewed mini blinds and pens. He loves to eat pens and pencils and munch on some plastic. Ugh! But he loves to wag his tail and is sweet to the kids and follows me around and for me that makes it all better! We will never forget our sweet girl, but he helped ease the pain.
Brett let me name him (named after the GREAT Baylor player and Heisman winner, RGIII) and no, I don't feel bad that he isn't named after the next year's Heisman winner!
