Out of order

Sorry, the next 3 entries are out of order. Just had a free moment to update the blog and realized after I finished about the time sequence.

The last supper

My parents sold our house of 36 years this month. It was the only place I had lived before I went to college. The night before they closed we went over and ate dinner and said goodbye. Very sad.

It's a hike, not a park

We took the kids to a nearby park/ hike and bike trail last Sunday. A friend said that there was a nice patch of bluebonnets to take pictures in. So I made the mistake of telling Drew that we were going to a park. He was expecting to see swings and slides and didn't appreciate that we were outdoors and he could run and be loud and all those things that I seem to always be telling my active, 4 year old not to do. He pitched a little fit and kept asking to go to the park. It was late in the day and we weren't going to another park. Later this week, Brett took him back there to fly an airplane and Drew came in telling me about all the fun he had on the hike. So it just goes to show you how the wording can really make a child happy. Drew loved it as a hiking place, hated it as a park!

Drew had a fun-filled Saturday. He played in his 1st T-Ball game. He is a Dodger. I know I am not supposed to care about how he looked, but he was precious in his Dodger blue. (Hopefully, one day in his Baylor green and gold!) It was so cold on Saturday, that I let Brett take Drew and then Rebecca and I came later to see him "play". The team practiced from 8:30 to 9:20 and then "played" the Braves from 9:30 to 10:00. I think the game ended in a tie. All the children took turns hitting and fielding the ball. After Drew would hit the ball, he had to be told to drop the bat and run to first base. Basically he had to be told what to do at every base. It was so great. I guess I can say that now. Maybe after a few years of getting up early on a Saturday to watch a game, I won't be so enthusiastic.

Then I took Drew to a birthday party at Pump It Up. His friend from MDO and church, Reagan turned 4. That is a great place. Drew had so much fun. It is giving me a strong idea about where to have a five year old's party in November.

Kelly and I took Drew and Rebecca to the Livestock Show and Carnival. It was exhausting, but the kids had a great time. Drew says, "I like the rides and the animals and the petting zoo."

Daddy Donut Day

Brett was off for Spring Break last week and was able to accompany Drew to school for Daddy and Donut day. Drew was excited!! Not sure about which though, Daddy taking him to school or the Donuts!

Reason not to miss church

Here's what happens on a Sunday morning when you are not looking and a child gets bored and you should be at church.

Don't worry grandparents... there isn't anything in the pot and the stove is off!!
Hopefully Rebecca will be more interested in the kitchen than I am. At least she is interested so far. It was all fun until I noticed she had emptied a bottle of seasoning onto the stove. But who can stay angry at that face??All her idea. She went and got the stool from the bathroom herself.

Drew at the Junior League

Last Saturday, Drew accompanied me to the Junior League for Minor League day. It was a time to show our kids what volunteering is all about. They made bracelets for children at Texas Children's Hospital, decorated cookies for kids at the Ronald McDonald House, and decorated place mats for children at MD Anderson. Drew had a good time and it was great to spend some mommy and son time together.
