Meeting more cousins

Drew and Becca were able to meet some more cousins, when Brett's cousin, Jaime, and her husband, Cain, and their two kids came to visit. They live in Arkansas and came down to visit Cain's family in Alvin. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of Jaime or Cain. Sometimes I fall down on my job of blog photographer. We hadn't seen them in quite awhile. This was our first time to meet Reese. It was great to see them and hopefully we will see them again before their third child's graduation!
Silly girls, well one silly girl and one who is a good sport!
Amanda and Rebecca
More silly girls, and I think a crazy Caden in the back

Louisiana Fun

Proud of their catch! She's a natural
This picture has me laughing so hard!!
Taking time out to get back to "girlie" things like fixing Cousin Amy's hair!
Look at her holding the fish. She even bragged to me that she kissed the fish! UGH!
This one also gives me a chuckle!!
Flying a kite
Brett took the kids and his mom to visit his grandma in Louisiana. They met Brett's cousins, Jeff and Amy and their son, Jaden. Drew was so excited to meet a new cousin. They fished, "hunted", shot the BB gun, flew kites, rode a horse, and basically had a great time being outside! Drew came home thinking Louisiana is the greatest place. (I will have to work on that so he is sure that Texas is the best!!)

Spring Break Guest

During Spring Break, we hosted a sweet girl for the week, Stella, the prairie dog. Drew's science teacher asked if we would keep Stella over the break. I think that we said yes before we really thought it through. Her cage was HUGE!! She lives in a two-story cage!! She came with a harness and leash. The kids would "walk" her around the kitchen and after about 10 minutes she would be worn out. They would put her back in her cage and go right to sleep. She is a really sweet animal and we enjoyed having her, but hopefully I am through with guests for awhile. I don't plan on hosting the snake, the bearded dragon, or any other creature that I would have to feed with dead mice or crickets.

Daddy Doughnut Day

Rebecca's school had a special day for the Dads. Rebecca named it "Daddy, Daughter, Doughnut Day". She loved taking Brett to school.

Snow Much Fun!

We headed back to New Mexico for our annual ski trip. This was Becca's first time to go.
What a difference a few years makes. On our first trip we took our 2 cell phones (with phone capabilities only) and Drew took his game boy. The next year we had our cell phones (still with only phone abilities), Drew's game boy, a DVD player and a GPS. This year we had a cell phone, a smart phone, GPS, DVD player, and a laptop. We had so many things charging or needing a charge and there were wires everywhere. Not sure what next year will bring. We seemed to have a very big technology explosion this year that I don't think will happen again anytime soon.
Rebecca was sad to go and leave Belle so I took a few pictures of them together so that Becca could look at her on the trip. I think that I am raising a little me. I enjoyed looking at the pictures of Belle, too.
Rebecca did great. She put on the skis and had a ball. She went up the magic carpet and ski lifts and was not afraid. She fell down, but it didn't seem to bother her. Of course, she had it nice skiing with Daddy and letting him do all the work!
Drew did great, too! Brett took him up when we first got there to see how much help Drew would need and it wasn't any. So Drew skied completely on his own. He rode up the ski lifts with me and would get annoyed with me because I am so much slower than he is! Oh well. If I go too fast and fall down, there is so much more of me to have to pick up!!
Since everyone had such a great time, it looks like we will be skiing for many years to come!
I love her little skis!
Having fun on the top of the castle. (The ski resort makes a snow structure for the kids to play on)
Angels in the snow!!

Rebecca is saying, "I love you" (in sign language).
