Hawaii, Day 1 & 2

Our wonderful friends, the McCullouchs, have a vacation home in Hawaii. Last Christmas, Natalie offered their place to us to use for a week. We quickly took them up on their offer and we were so excited to be able to celebrate our 10th anniversary in such a beautiful place. This was definitely a dream trip of a lifetime.

Since we were still on Houston time, we awoke early to see the sunrise

The Sleeping Giant, even though he doesn't seem to have a nose
Brett, overlooking ʻŌpaekaʻa Falls
These were the first falls that we saw. They were easily seen from the road.

Brett and I took a spur of the moment hike on Kuilau Trail. It was pretty and rained on and off. We ate wild raspberries and guava fruit. I ended up losing the soles of my tennis shoes in all the mud and Brett's tennis shoes changed to a mud color. It was a nice, "easy" trail.
