Hail, Hail to Old Notre Dame

Rice played Notre Dame in football and dad got tickets. I accompanied him to this icon of football. It didn't disappoint (the game score did for Rice, boo). It is quite a drive from Houston to South Bend, IN, but I was happy to visit a state where I had never been. And I had no idea how much corn is grown in Indiana.

We arrived early and had plenty of time to walk around the campus. We went and saw the Golden Dome Building, which is now used for their main academic building. It was beautiful inside with murals, tiled floor, and the dome painted.

Then we went inside the Basilica. There were amazing stained glass windows.

We were able to see the bagpipers play "Amazing Grace".

Touchdown Jesus
We went and saw their basketball arena and Muffet McGraw was on the floor coaching. Notre Dame Women and Baylor Women's basketball have had some exciting games. Looking forward to the next time they meet to see if my Bears can avenge last year's loss in the tournament.

All smiles before it began.
This was the good score early on.
It was a very neat experience and overall we had fun. Wish the Owls would have done better, but it was cool to be in the stadium where so much football history has taken place. So if my Bears don't make the football final 4 and the Fighting Irish do, don't be surprised if this Baptist girl is rooting for the Catholics!
